What is the Ultraformer MPT?

The Ultraformer MPT is a treatment that applies high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) technology to treat sagging, ageing skin and localized fat.

Ultraformer MPT’s revolutionary technology works by emitting micro- and macro-focused ultrasounds that penetrate deep into the layers of the skin’s muscle tissue, promoting the production of collagen and elastin, toning muscle tissue, attenuating wrinkles and giving a non-invasive lifting effect.

Number of sessions required

They vary according to the patient’s age and condition, as well as the areas to be treated. For facial treatments, 1 to 3 Ultraformer MPT sessions per year are recommended . Generally, the results are visible after the first session and continue to improve progressively. However, the evolution and progression of the results will define the number of sessions you may need.

Procedure

How long does treatment with Ultraformer MPT last?

The duration of the result varies according to the initial state of the skin and the patient’s goals. The improvements are rapid and are due to the stimulation of the skin’s natural collagen production during the regeneration process, with the skin continuing its natural ageing process, starting from a better level. Between 1 and 3 sessions per year can be carried out for progressive improvement and maintenance of results.

Recovery from Ultraformer MPT treatment

It is normal to have slightly pinker, swollen skin and slight discomfort after treatment, but the patient can resume her daily activities straight away.

Care after treatment

He obtained his Master’s degree in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine in Lisbon and then specialized in Otorhinolaryngology at the Santa Maria Hospital in Lisbon, where he joined the teaching staff as a free assistant. His training in Otorhinolaryngology had a strong component in head and neck surgery, but also in Rhinology, Otology and Pediatric Laryngology.

At the end of his internship, he dedicated himself to further training in functional and aesthetic surgery of the nose (Rhinoplasty and Rhino-septoplasty). During this time, he did an internship in head and neck oncology at the Otorhinolaryngology department of the IPO in Lisbon and an internship in otology and skull base at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. He subsequently undertook several fellowships with world-renowned surgeons in the field of Rhinoplasty / facial plastic surgery, namely:

Doctor with a Master’s Degree in Medicine from the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the New University of Lisbon (FCML), specialist in Radioncology at the Portuguese Institute of Oncology, Francisco Gentil (IPO).

Between 2010-2013 he worked at the MD Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC) in Texas, the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and the National Cancer Institute (INCA) in Rio de Janeiro. In 2014 she was a Hospital Assistant at the IPO and since 2015 she has been a Hospital Assistant at the Centro Hospitalar Universitário de Lisboa Central (CHULC). In 2020 she graduated in Aesthetic Medicine from the Portuguese Society of Aesthetic and Cosmetic Medicine (SPMEc).

Although his passion for Aesthetic Medicine first arose from strengthening the self-esteem of cancer patients – oncoaesthetics – he now has a huge passion for the skin, our largest organ, and for looking at it as a whole, especially preventatively.

The Ultraformer MPT is a minimally invasive and safe treatment with a very low complication rate, as long as it is performed by a doctor with experience in this type of treatment. You must follow all medical instructions to reduce the risk of complications.

The procedure is generally very well tolerated by patients.

The results are immediate after each session, improving progressively over the following months.

The duration of the result varies according to the initial state of the skin and the patient’s goals. After the initial treatment plan has been completed, sessions are recommended for maintenance and progressive improvement of the results.

As a rule, the treatment is based on a protocol of 1 to 3 sessions, varying according to the initial state of the skin and the patient’s goals.

The price of the treatment varies, as it depends on the areas to be treated and the number of sessions required. At your first appointment, you will be presented with your personalized treatment plan and the associated costs, and we offer payment facilities.

There is no minimum age for treatment with Ultraformer MPT. It can be started on medical advice, to treat problems such as sagging, wrinkles and skin ageing.

The treatment can be carried out at any time of the year. As long as your skin is sensitized, you should avoid direct exposure to the sun.

The treatment is not indicated for pregnant or breastfeeding patients, patients with flaccidity or excessive amounts of fat, as well as patients with acne and active herpes, autoimmune diseases and suspicious pigmented lesions. Specific health conditions should be assessed by our medical team.

Treatment with Ultraformer MPT is safe, generally well tolerated and there are few complications. However, in the first few days after treatment, swelling and slight redness may occur in the treated area.
