He obtained his Master’s degree in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine in Lisbon and then specialized in Otorhinolaryngology at the Santa Maria Hospital in Lisbon, where he joined the teaching staff as a free assistant. His training in Otorhinolaryngology had a strong component in head and neck surgery, but also in Rhinology, Otology and Pediatric Laryngology.

At the end of his internship, he dedicated himself to further training in functional and aesthetic surgery of the nose (Rhinoplasty and Rhino-septoplasty). During this time, he did an internship in head and neck oncology at the Otorhinolaryngology department of the IPO in Lisbon and an internship in otology and skull base at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.
