What are tension wires?

Tensioning threads are biocompatible, resorbable filaments placed under the skin to create an immediate lifting effect and stimulate the natural production of collagen.

A physician certified in Aesthetic Medicine by the Portuguese Medical Association, she completed her postgraduate training in Aesthetic Medicine at the Complutense University of Madrid in 2017. She is also a specialist in General and Family Medicine and holds a postgraduate degree in Sports Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Porto. This background provides her with a comprehensive view of health and the individual, which is reflected in a rigorous, personalized medical approach centered on the individual needs of each patient.

Dr. Catarina Guerra built her career in Aesthetic Medicine with solid, international training, having completed specializations and fellowships in Portugal, Spain, Italy, England and Brazil. This global experience has given her contact with innovative techniques and protocols of excellence, which she now applies in a differentiated and personalized clinical practice.

In addition to her care work, she is also trained in general and family medicine.

Recognized for her continuous updating and scientific rigor, she also collaborates as a national and international trainer, namely in the postgraduate course in Aesthetic Medicine at the University of Alcalá.

Dr. Catarina Duarte / Aesthetic Medicine

He obtained his Master’s degree in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine in Lisbon and then specialized in Otorhinolaryngology at the Santa Maria Hospital in Lisbon, where he joined the teaching staff as a free assistant. His training in Otorhinolaryngology had a strong component in head and neck surgery, but also in Rhinology, Otology and Pediatric Laryngology.

At the end of his internship, he dedicated himself to further training in functional and aesthetic surgery of the nose (Rhinoplasty and Rhino-septoplasty). During this time, he did an internship in head and neck oncology at the Otorhinolaryngology department of the IPO in Lisbon and an internship in otology and skull base at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. He subsequently undertook several fellowships with world-renowned surgeons in the field of Rhinoplasty / facial plastic surgery, namely:

Doctor with a Master’s Degree in Medicine from the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the New University of Lisbon (FCML), specialist in Radioncology at the Portuguese Institute of Oncology, Francisco Gentil (IPO).

Between 2010-2013 he worked at the MD Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC) in Texas, the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and the National Cancer Institute (INCA) in Rio de Janeiro. In 2014 she was a Hospital Assistant at the IPO and since 2015 she has been a Hospital Assistant at the Centro Hospitalar Universitário de Lisboa Central (CHULC). In 2020 she graduated in Aesthetic Medicine from the Portuguese Society of Aesthetic and Cosmetic Medicine (SPMEc).

Although his passion for Aesthetic Medicine first arose from strengthening the self-esteem of cancer patients – oncoaesthetics – he now has a huge passion for the skin, our largest organ, and for looking at it as a whole, especially preventatively.

With a Master’s degree in Medicine from NOVA Medical School since 2011, Dr. Cristina Moreira believes that from the general comes the specific, integrating a broad vision of medicine with a focus on detail and individualized treatment. He began his medical career in General Surgery and went on to specialize in Stomatology and Oro-Maxillary Surgery, where he developed differentiated skills in head and neck surgery.
