She is also a specialist in General and Family Medicine and holds a postgraduate degree in Sports Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Porto. Dr. Nélia completed her Master’s Degree in Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon and her Medical Internship in Dermatovenereology at the Centro Hospitalar e Universitário de Lisboa Central.

She complemented her specific training in Dermatology with internships in Aesthetic Dermatology and LASERs at the Dermalas Clinic of the Teknon Medical Center in Barcelona, in Hair and Nail Diseases at the Dermatology Service of the University Hospital Center in Brussels, and in Cutaneous Oncology at the IPO in Lisbon. He has attended courses in various areas including Dermoscopy, Cosmetic Dermatology, Peelings and LASERs.

Her activity encompasses General Dermatology (acne, rosacea, eczema, screening/evaluation of “signs”, pigmented and non-pigmented skin spots and lesions, among others), Hair and Nail Diseases, Dermatological Surgery and Laser Therapy, including skin rejuvenation procedures such as Fractional CO2 LASER.

He is a regular participant in national and international courses and congresses in the specialty and areas of differentiation. She collaborates in the training of doctors in the field of Dermatology. She is also a lecturer in Dermatology at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Universidade Nova de Lisboa and a researcher in Multicenter Clinical Trials. He obtained his Master’s degree in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine in Lisbon and then specialized in Otorhinolaryngology at the Santa Maria Hospital in Lisbon, where he joined the teaching staff as a free assistant. His training in Otorhinolaryngology had a strong component in head and neck surgery, but also in Rhinology, Otology and Pediatric Laryngology.

At the end of his internship, he dedicated himself to further training in functional and aesthetic surgery of the nose (Rhinoplasty and Rhino-septoplasty). During this time, he did an internship in head and neck oncology at the Otorhinolaryngology department of the IPO in Lisbon and an internship in otology and skull base at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. Dr. Joana Gomes / Family Medicine

Dr. Joana Gomes, a specialist in General and Family Medicine, completed her Master’s Degree in Medicine at the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Beira Interior in 2013 and completed her specialty in General and Family Medicine at the Agrupamento de Centros de Saúde Lisboa Central in 2019.

During her Internship, she did an internship in the Endocrinology department of the Centro Hospitalar Universitário de Lisboa Central and took an intensive course in behavior change counseling. Later, she also completed a course in Obesity at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto, with a final grade of 18.

She regularly participates in congresses and training courses in areas of differentiation, with a special interest in endocrinology and obesity. She has been a member of the Portuguese Association of General Practice since 2015.

Doctor with a Master’s Degree in Medicine from the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the New University of Lisbon (FCML), specialist in Radioncology at the Portuguese Institute of Oncology, Francisco Gentil (IPO).

Between 2010-2013 he worked at the MD Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC) in Texas, the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and the National Cancer Institute (INCA) in Rio de Janeiro. In 2014 she was a Hospital Assistant at the IPO and since 2015 she has been a Hospital Assistant at the Centro Hospitalar Universitário de Lisboa Central (CHULC). In 2020 she graduated in Aesthetic Medicine from the Portuguese Society of Aesthetic and Cosmetic Medicine (SPMEc).

Although his passion for Aesthetic Medicine first arose from strengthening the self-esteem of cancer patients – oncoaesthetics – he now has a huge passion for the skin, our largest organ, and for looking at it as a whole, especially preventatively.
